SSD + The Twinery Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the first day of the fabulous blog hop with Skipping Stones Design and The Twinery!  If you came from Teri, than you are in the right spot.  If not, why don't you join in the fun and start at The Twinery's blog.  You can win some twine and some stamps today by leaving comments along the way!  So, why not join in the fun!  :)    The deadline for leaving comments is 11:59pm EDT, Friday May 25th.  Winner will be announced on The Twinery Blog
Sunday, May 27th.

So today I am sharing a fun card that I made using the new Grapeful stamp set from Skipping Stones Design.

I also used a bit of the Pumpkin Seed Sentiments stamp set.  The papers and stickers are from the  What's Up? collection from BasicGrey.   And of course, the twine is from The Twinery.

I attempted to create a grapefruit for my background, complete with sugar (aka glitter).  Not entirely sure how well that turned out.

And then I made sure to stamp my fruit image in a pinkish/salmon color to look like a grapefruit piece, rather than a lemon or lime (which many people are using the image for).

It was one of those cards where I just kept trying new things and ended up with a bunch of layers.  What do you think?

The card is based on sketch #129 at Skipping Stones Design.  To play along, just upload your card here.  You do not even have to use SSD stamps.  :)  I do hope you play along with us.

And don't miss out on the awesome PMS sale going on now...all details can be found here.

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!  Your next stop on the blog hop is Dorangela.

Have a fantastic day!!!

Her World

Hello friends!  I'm starting to feel like my mojo is coming back...and I'm lovin' it!!!  :)  Today I have a super fun layout to share with you.  :)

Aren't these papers fun?  I used the What's Up? collection from BasicGrey.  I basically made my own little fun city on my layout...I am really lovin' it!

Here are some close up's:

It's funny...I was talking about yesterday's layout looking busy, but this one is just as busy.  It's just more clustered, which I guess I like.  :)

Anyways...don't you just wish we all could live like this--not a care in the world...free, fun and happy.  That's childhood for you.

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a fantastic day!!!

Hi everyone!  So happy you have stopped by.  :)

Today I have a layout to share that uses the fun PB&J collection from BasicGrey.  It has a whole bunch of circles on it, and may in fact be a little too busy, but it's still fun.

I used my Cameo to cut the circles.

What do you think?  Too busy?

Here are some close up's:

And then I also have a winner to announce....

In 5 Minutes...

You can heat soup or make a sandwich.
You can change a load of laundry (most days).
You can read a book to a 3 year old.
You can play with your dog.
You can do a quick browse on facebook.

You can make a mini card:

Life is so busy!  For us all.  And 5 minutes is sometimes all you have, so easy and simple projects can be a lifesaver.

My mini card is done for sketch 128 over at Skipping Stones Design.  I used the beautiful Uplifting stamp set.

This card also uses papers from The ScrapCake, from their My Private Happiness collection, and twine from The Twinery.

I really enjoy making mini cards.  for one, I LOVE large images for cards, so smaller cards make the images more front and center.  And they are so easy to add to gifts.

Here's the sketch:

The sketch was created by the fabulous Heidi Van Laar.  I hope you take the challenge and play along with us!  *You do NOT have to have Skipping Stones Design stamps to play along!*  Play along here

And you don't want to miss out on what the rest of the team did with this sketch, check those out here:

Hip to be Square

Hi everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day!  We spent most of the day getting a new dishwasher in because the old one died.  Appliances should work forever, I hate replacing them...but maybe this one will work a bit better.  Anyways....

Today I wanted to share the whole layout that I was talking about last week...the one I created for NSD for BasicGrey.

Here's the full layout:

The challenge was to be inspired by one their digital templates.  I chose this one:

Does it look familiar?  If you've been a BasicGrey fan for long, I bet it does!  :)  I just knew I wanted to do this template as soon as I saw it.  You can find all of the BasicGrey digital templates here.

The collection I used for this layout was the fabulous What's Up? collection.  :)  It's so pretty and fun!

Here are some close up's of my layout:

Well there you have it.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  Come back tomorrow for some more BasicGrey fun that you won't want to miss!!!

Have a wonderful day!

Texture Texture Texture

I love texture!

Today I am sharing a layout that has a whole bunch of it.

The papers are all from the wonderful My Private Happiness collection from The ScrapCake.

This layout is actually full of "mistakes".  I had cut that white background with my Cameo the other day, and it was supposed to be a full 12 x 12 background.  But then I ripped it.  So I cut it down and used it on this one.  There was some stuff on the back of it...like markings and slight tears, but it was on the back, so it didn't matter.  So I sprayed it with my Helmar v2 Adhesive spray to adhere it to my layout.  Then I discovered I sprayed the up side!  So I poured some glitter over the top.  See what I mean?  Then I messed up my journaling and had to cut that part off and add a new strip of white behind it.  I tell you....it was just one error after another.

But I am very happy with how it turned out.  Funny how that happens.  :)

Those awesome fancy white leaves are from Prima and the twine is from The Twinery.

Here are some close up's:

Funny thing is...I showed Eryn this layout and she didn't think anything of her facial expressions or anything, she just said "look, I'm a princess!"  LOL...when she gets older she may not like this layout as much.  :)

Well thanks so much for stopping by!  Don't forget about my giveaway here.  I will draw a winner for it tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day!!!

This card also uses papers, gems and trims from Webster's Pages, from their Everyday Poetry collection.  I thought I would use several trims on my card, piled on top of each other.  I love it...course, I love trim!  :)

Be You But Be Nice

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

So Eryn tells me all the time that she is silly.
And she is.

I love it when she gets a bit goofy, though sometimes it can be a bit tough to get a photo of her just smiling at the camera...especially lately, she's always wanting to make a funny face at the camera.

And then the other day she said something to me...she said "I'm not weird like Hayden, I'm silly."  I thought of these pictures and I knew I had a page in the making.  I decided to leave the "like Hayden" out though, as to not start a fight.  Sisters....

I guess I should have told her to be nice.

Anyways, here's the layout I made:

I used the fabulous Be You collection from Fancy Pants Designs for this layout.  I can't get enough of this fun line.  I decided to make a large heart with the ribbon, and then I stitched a heart over it too.  I am really happy with the way it looks...just something a bit different.  I also love the rub-on on top of the black and white photo...so fun!

Here are some close up's of my layout:

So, what are your plans for National Scrapbooking Day tomorrow?  I know there are activities and challenges all over the internet as well as crops and fun stuff going on for NSD.  I myself will be doing a giveaway on my blog.  :)  So make sure you come back tomorrow!

Have a terrific day!

Freckles

When I was a kid, I struggled a little bit with my freckles...but I don't remember ever hating them.  My grandpa used to tell me that my freckles were angel kisses.  I loved that.  Now I am an adult, and well...I love my freckles.  And I LOVE Austin's freckles too.

But he doesn't.

He hates them.  In fact, he's told me before that the kids at school don't like him because he has freckles.  I've been talking to him a lot about how much I love them, and how handsome he is.  I told him about my grandpa, and he seemed to like that.  I hope that one day he realizes that his freckles are part of what makes him unique.

So I created a layout about his dislike of freckles and showed it to him.

"Ahh...mom, why did you put that on there?"

Oh how I wish I could change his mind.

Here's the layout:

It uses the super fun Childish Things collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  I even used the coordinating stamps.  :)  That frame with the word handsome was cut out using my Cameo.

Here are some close up's of the layout:

So what do you think?  Do you have an opinion on freckles?  Any advice?

Thanks for stopping in today!!!!
Hope your day is great!
