News :)

Just thought I would share something with you...because it is effecting my blogging.  :)  I am pregnant.  Just at two months now, but I have been getting really sick and feeling super tired.  I just haven't had the energy to do anything.  And so certain things like blogging and scrapbooking are being  neglected.  I am hoping this will end shortly, but I wanted to let you all know what is going on.

Also...

Oh my goodness...you guys are going to LOVE Coconut Scrapbook's August's Kit. Once again, packed full of goodies, and the paper is HOT!  It's from an International Manufacturer. Double- sided, bright colors, NO pictures do this paper justice. :)

We hope everyone can join us for the reveal of August's Kit of The Month, designed by me!  Stay tuned here for sneak peeks and hints and BE ON THE Message Board: July 31st, Thursday at 6:00 p.m. EST!!! We had so much fun the last time.

ScrapLovers Reveals #2

Here are some layouts I made with the new Heidi Swapp "World Traveler Collection".  Also used her mirrors and brads.  I wasn't sure what to do at first, because I am not a world traveler, and didn't think I had pictures to work with this line, but it worked just fine for what I had.    You can find these products here.

Glitter Border

**Sorry I have been MIA...got called away to Nebraska where there was mice, snakes, and a lot of yucky smells.  (We were cleaning out my hubby's grandmother's house).  So that is why I haven't posted for several days, sorry.

Here is a super simple technique for you to try...make a glitter border using double sided tape.  I love to do this on my Christmas Cards.

First, go ahead and place the double-sided tape where you want it on your project.

Then peel it (if your tape is the peelable kind) and pour glitter on top.  Make sure you have a piece of paper or a container behind your project so you don't lose glitter.

Then I turned my card over and knocked all of the loose glitter off of it and onto my paper.  Then I was able to fold the paper and pour my glitter back into the glitter container.  Glitter lasts forever if you are careful not to lose much of it when you use it.  Now you should have a border of glitter.  Super simple huh.

Here's my finished card:

On top of the flower, I added a circular paperclip.  Then I filled it with Crystal Effects (a clear daze) and sprinkled even more glitter onto my card.

Supplies:
Paper and canvas flower from Making Memories.  Chipboard piece from Maya Road and painted with Making Memories paint.  Used 3D paint from Scribbles on the border of the chipboard.  Stamped saying from Stampendous.  Paperclip.  Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up!  and glitter from Hero Arts.

Guess who is designing next month's kit...me! Yep...I had fun picking it all out. It will feature this new line that is just AWESOME and some of my favorites too.

And, I am sure you are wondering about what happened with the last challenge from Scrapbooks, etc. Did I win? Well...it looks like it...I am not sure that it is completely over yet, but I am ahead by 67 votes! :) Thank you SO MUCH for everyone who voted for me...you guys are AWESOME!!!

You know what I've noticed...when I sit down to make a card, I can't just make one.  I usually end up making at least 3.  Here's what I did with the latest CPS sketch: #71 (all 3 cards from the sketch):

3rd time a charm???

So, got third place AGAIN in the 2nd challenge of the Ultimate Summer Challenge...BUT...

I made the ten finalists for the third challenge!!!  Yeah!!!  So, again, I need your votes.  And I feel bad because I keep asking you to do this, but man...I really want to win this...it's like I keep getting really excited, have hope, then see hope slipping away...

So PLEASE....go here and vote for my layout.  YOU CAN VOTE DAILY UNTIL JULY 9th!!!  This is my layout:

The challenge was to embellish your page by using altered embellishments or making embellishments into something new.  I sanded the buttons and then made them into shapes (tree, flowers) then topped with a little paint.  On the side I used those old circular paper clips to border and then I cut half of them off to make it look like a scalloped border.  :)

Please pass on the word to anybody you know who you think may like this LO.  :)
