A New Tradition

This year for Easter we were given a gift.  It was the book "Benjamin's Box" and the Resurrection Eggs.  We had never seen these before and were very blessed by them.  If you haven't heard of them, you should check them out.  Anyways, we decided we should make this a tradition for our family.  Every Easter we will read the book and open the eggs.  Once the boys are older we can take more time to reflect.  This got me thinking about traditions.  When did we start doing things a certain way?  Sometimes we document a tradition that we have, but we rarely seem to know when it started...which of course made me think that I should document the start of this new tradition...so here it is:

There is a fun little crease in the page because the boys left a toy car on the stairs...and my clumbsy self fell down the stairs holding my page.  Can you believe it?  I am just glad it didn't get more ruined then it did.  I did this LO with my first Scarlet Lime kit (LOVE IT!!!)

New MB!

There is a new scrapbooking message board up and running.  I am helping to start it.  I will have monthly sketches and additional challenges on it too.  :)  So come check it out!!!  You will find it here!  (And spread the word for me)

Inspiration is EVERYWHERE!!!

Where do you find your inspiration?  Only in things that are strictly scrapbooking related like in online galleries or scrapbooking mags?  I challenge you to look all around you...you will find inspiration...maybe even in the craziest of places.   Like, perhaps, a dirty, unfinished bathroom wall.  :)  That is what I did.

Crazy, but true.  I looked at it several times and a scrapbook page was always crying out to me.  LOL...maybe that means I am mentally ill.   :)  Nah...  Here is the page I created:

And, not as impressive...but something else I was inspired by was the television.  Actually if I sit and watch commercials or intros to show, I can almost always find inspiration for scrapbooking.  When I would watch America's Next Top Model...I always thought the intro section would make for a great page.  Finally, I just did it.

And the LO:

What is the craziest thing you have been inspired by?  If you don't usually do so, take time this week to look around you at ordinary things for inspiration with your scrapbooking. :)

More to Reveal

Here are my last two "reveals" at ScrapLovers for the month of March:

There is not really black on the second LO...the black is behind the LO.  :)  The papers are Chatterbox's Bunkhouse collection.  I also used those cool monogram punchouts from Pizzazzill on both of these LOs.  You can find those here.

ScrapLovers Reveal

Happy St. Patty's day!  And...yeah!  I have some new stuff to show you!  Sorry I haven't posted this past week...things kinda got busy and time just slipped away from me.   I am excited to show you my first two reveals for ScrapLovers:

The papers, rub-on's, and stamps are all from Upsy Daisy.  You can find them all here.  Then I added various ribbons and the ribbon slides from Maya Road.

Thanks for looking!  :)  I will have two more reveals for ScrapLovers coming this week and soon I will have new stuff for the Coconut ScrapShop too!  :)

A bit carried away

My latest LO was a lot of fun...but I may have gotten a bit carried away...I kept wanting to add cute embellishments. It's a whole lot of beauty on one page...kind of reminds me of my grandmother...who happens to be the one in the picture. :) The patterned papers are the new line from Stemma. These are SO beautiful...I almost hated to cut them up. But I did. :) The rub-on's are SEI, and the chipboard is Fancy Pants (slight chance it is Basic Grey, but I can't seem to find it online to figure out who it is or make a link). The rest is ribbons. I layered paper and ribbon behind the butterfly, and I am really pleased with the way that turned out.

And here are some more pics from playing with the new camera: the boys on their bikes.

A tagging and a couple pictures

Seriously...who started this tagging thing????? Whose bright
idea was it...ok well it works :) and now I will share:
Seven Random Things About Me
Here’s how it works:

1. Link to the person that tagged you and leave a comment
on their blog, so that their readers can visit yours.

2. Post the rules on your blog.

3. Share 7 Random facts about yourself on your blog.

4. Tag 7 random people at the bottom of your post, linking
to their blog. Let each person know by leaving a comment
on their blog.

Me
I actually was tagged by two people: Tabitha and Dee.
(Check out their cool sites with their awesome work)

Here are my *new* 7 Random Things about ME!
I had to go back to my previous threads to make sure I
didn't duplicate things....man, after this I may have
nothing else to share :)

1. I love the Boulder Dinner Theater. I go there often.
In fact, we are going tomorrow night. I would rather
go to this small dinner theater than to the big fancy
productions (and I have been to both).

2. I always wanted to have 4 kids. We have two. I
secretly wish for twin girls (But even my husband
doesn't know that).

3. I am scared of the ocean and everything in it.

4. My whole childhood I said I wanted to grow up and
be a lawyer. My parents used to believe that it would
really happen...they thought I was good at arguing. :)

5. A previous boyfriend of mine...the one I loved...is
now gay. And I have heard rumors of another previous
boyfriend being gay. Sometimes I wonder if I do that
to men. :)

6. I hate feet. More appropriately, I hate my feet.

7. I played with Barbie til middle school, and I would
have played with them in high school if it had been
more socially acceptable. :)
And now I am off to do some tagging :) But let me
leave you with a couple pictures.

I started playing with the new camera today. Here
are a few of my favorites, not because they are great
photos, but because they are fun and real. :)
This picture of my youngest was taken after he accidentally threw dirt all over himself. LOL. Boy was he surprised and not too happy about that.

And who knows what Austin is doing here, but he never stops. :)

My New Baby

It came in the mail today. :) My new camera. I am so excited and can't wait to start taking pictures with it. I am hoping to start trying to do a photo a day kind of thing...trying to learn the new camera (with the new computer). New...that is my life lately, and I will embrace that and adapt. :)

Coco'nutty Creations

So, I got my first kit from the Coconut ScrapShop...and it is awesome! Check it out here. It comes with some stamps from Hot off the Press that I just love! And the rub-on's that come with it are the easiest that I have ever used (and I have used a lot of rub-on's!) Here is what I did with it (and I have leftovers!):

Doesn't this one just look like spring! :)

To create the border around the circle, I stamped the heart on white and cut out...then positioned behind the circle. :)

This one I used 3D White paint (that did not come with the kit) to give it a unique look. I also used the big brads as centers for flowers and created a heart with the fancy fibers. It was fun.

And for this one I thought I would try to create a scalloped border with the big brads placed behind the photo. I am happy with the way it turned out. I also love the way it looked when I stamped on the patterned paper (the wings and heart) instead of just stamping right onto the green paper or onto white. It creates a really unique look and I love it! :)

Yeah!!!

Yeah!!! I have borrowed a camera so I can take pictures of my pages for my blog! But an even bigger "yeah" is that I ordered my new camera today...can't wait to get it! The camera I ordered is a Canon EOS 40D 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera. I am SO excited!!!

Here are a few pages that I have done recently for challenges over at ScrapLovers:

This one was for the first Scrap Around the World challenge. We had to use hearts and use at least one foreign word on the page. :) I made a list of foreign words. :)

This one is for a challenge that I issued there. The challenge is to take an entry straight from your blog or journal and put it on your page. Mine, obviously was taken from my blog. :) Come play along here.

And this one was for a sketch challenge that we had at the SAW kickoff crop. :)

Thanks for looking!
